Dr. Jones grew up in the sunny state of Florida where she developed a passion for animals from a very early age. After finishing high school, she attended the University of Arkansas where she received her undergraduate degree in Animal Science and met her husband. She then went on to veterinary school at Virginia Tech, where she finally accomplished her lifelong dream of becoming a veterinarian.
After graduation, Dr. Jones and her husband moved to Maryland where she practiced at a small animal clinic. Although they had fun sight-seeing in D.C. and eating Maryland blue crabs for a couple years, their hearts always remained in the South. When her husband accepted a faculty position at the University of Alabama, she felt like she was finally coming home. She has already fallen in love with Tuscaloosa and is learning to say “Roll Tide!”
When she is not at work, Dr. Jones enjoys spending time with her husband, their very spoiled dogs, Romeo (an Australian Cattle Dog/Border Collie mix) and Mocha (a Miniature Schnauzer), and their persnickety Sphynx cat, Mimi. She loves traveling to new places and spending time outdoors. Some of her favorite activities include hiking, paddle boarding, horseback riding, and gardening.
Dr. Jones is very excited to be a part of the Animal Medical Center family. Some of her special interests include internal medicine and ophthalmology. Most of all, Dr. Jones enjoys forming relationships with her clients and helping them make the best choices possible regarding the healthcare of their beloved pets.
